“الغطاء النباتي” يُعزز قدرات 16 دولة عربية في إعداد تقاريرها لعام 2026 لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر
واس | ينظم المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر بالمملكة العربية السعودية، ورشة عمل إقليمية تضم ممثلي 16 دولة عربية؛ بهدف تقديم التدريب والدعم الفني وبناء القدرات في مجال إعداد التقارير الوطنية ورفعها لأمانة اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر.
يأتي ذلك في إطار الدور الذي يضطلع به المركز في تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي ونقل المعرفة والخبرات للدول الأطراف، وذلك بعد اختياره من قبل اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر ضمن سبع مؤسسات إقليمية لتقديم المساندة الفنية للدول؛ بما يسهم في ضمان جودة إعداد تقاريرها الوطنية، وهو ما يعكس ريادة المملكة في العمل البيئي على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي.
وتهدف ورشة العمل إلى استعراض تجربة المملكة وجهودها في تنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر ضمن التقرير الوطني للمملكة لعام 2026 بناءً على بياناتها الوطنية ، إلى جانب التعريف بالتقرير الوطني لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر، من حيث نطاقه ومكوناته والإطار الزمني لإعداده، وتوضيح آليات الدعم الفني والمتابعة المستمرة التي يقدمها المركز خلال مراحل الإبلاغ لعام 2026.
وتبذل المملكة جهودًا حثيثة لتحقيق المستهدفات البيئية الوطنية بما ينسجم مع الأهداف العالمية، من خلال تبني مشاريع ومبادرات وطنية وإقليمية، مثل مبادرة السعودية الخضراء ومبادرة الشرق الأوسط الأخضر؛ بما يدعم الجهود البيئية ويسهم في الحد من آثار التغيرات المناخية.
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) in Saudi Arabia is organizing a regional workshop bringing together representatives of 16 Arab countries, with the aim of providing training, technical support, and capacity building in preparing national reports and submitting them to the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
This comes within the framework of NCVC’s role in strengthening regional cooperation and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise to Parties, following its selection by the UNCCD as one of seven regional institutions to provide technical backstopping and quality assurance during the 2026 reporting process. This helps ensure the quality of national reporting and reflects Saudi Arabia’s leadership in environmental action at both the regional and international levels.
The workshop aims to showcase Saudi Arabia’s experience and efforts in vegetation cover development and combating desertification within Saudi Arabia’s national report for 2026, based on its national data. It will also introduce the UNCCD national report, including its scope, components, and preparation timeline, and clarify the mechanisms for technical support and ongoing follow-up provided by NCVC throughout the 2026 reporting stages.
Saudi Arabia continues its intensive efforts to achieve national environmental targets in line with global objectives by adopting national and regional projects and initiatives, including the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative, thereby supporting environmental efforts and helping mitigate the impacts of climate change.
